The US auction 101 for award of frequencies in the band 28 MHz concluded after 38 days and 176 rounds of bidding, raising USD 702 million. It ended with provisionally winning bids on 2,965 licenses out of the 3,072 licenses available, leaving just 107 licenses still held by the regulator FCC.

Swiss organisation Dispute Resolution Network Neutrality reports no disputes in 2018

Dispute Resolution Network Neutrality, a Swiss mediation organisation for resolving network neutrality cases, has not received any complaint or resolved any dispute concerning violation of the network neutrality principle during the whole year of 2018. The organisation has two possible explanations for that. Either consumers successfully resolve the issues immediately after addressing their operators, or they have a low awareness of their rights concerning network neutrality.

Belgian Regulator Lures Fourth Market Player in 5G Auction

Belgian telecom regulator BIPT wants to attract the fourth mobile operator to the market and in the planned 5G auction offers the most convenient conditions for a newcomer from among all European regulators. Although BIPT Chairman Michel Van Bellinghen in his interview for Lupa.cz did not specify the identity of the new player, he said the operator has a proven experience from developed mobile markets and sufficient resources for the entry to the Belgian market.

MoQoS: The European Platform for QoS Measurements

The project MoQoS aimed at facilitating cooperation among national telecom regulators across Europe by creating, publishing and reusing open data related to broadband Internet. The project was co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility of the European Union.

The project has established a cross-border platform for crowdsourcing data related to the quality of service of high-speed Internet. For more information about the project, please see moqos.eu

Consulting and execution of a spectrum auction of 3,5GHz in Helsinki, Finland

The project aimed to deliver a frequency auction of three paired blocks in the 3,5GHz band. The auction format was based on Ficora’s own proprietary auction rules set by the respective ministry.

Auction software services and execution of a spectrum auction in 700MHz band, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Our software and the team expertise helped to deliver one of the few successful frequency auctions in Africa. The auction finished with all four blocks sold. Another positive aspect of the auction was that a new entrant appeared, a local Tanzanian company, who got frequencies for building a new 4G network.
